Today’s prompt: “Write an acceptance speech for your party’s nominee for governor.”

“My fellow Idahoans,” you intone, “the threats to our state are great, but our will is stronger. Together, we can overcome the ravages of COVID-19, the economic travails that are crushing families and small businesses, and the giant owls that pick us up and rip us to pieces. Setting our state back on the right path is no small feat, and so it is truly an honor that you have entrusted me to do so. It is with great gratitude that I accept your nomination for governor of–”
